Château de Bois-Préau
The National Museum of National of Malmaison & Bois-Préau owns a complete reprint of a landscape wallpaper designed by the Dufour & Leroy factory around 1829 and restored for the occasion. It depicts - in an attenuated mode - five episodes relating to the victorious deployment of the French army against the Austrians in Northern Italy in 1796, then against the English in Rome and Naples in 1798-99. Documents, objects, paintings, drawings and engravings surround this spectacular 16-meter-long "camaïeu wall hanging", presented in five parts, to complete and develop these sequences, which is evoked with charm and a certain fantasy on the wallpaper.
